MEET BRIAN

Born & Raised in the 43rd!

I was born and raised in the 43rd Ward and I’m a proud graduate of Oscar Mayer Elementary. Currently, I am serving my third term as the President of Sheffield Neighborhood Association, the neighborhood where I grew up.

I also serve as a beat facilitator for the 018th Police District. I co-founded the 43rd Ward Alliance to bring our neighborhood associations together to collaborate on our most pressing issues. My commitment to service started decades ago and through my volunteer leadership combined with my private sector experience, I have developed positive relationships with neighbors, community leaders, business owners, the Chicago Police Department, and school administrators to benefit our community. I am uniquely qualified to lead our ward.

Sheffield Neighborhood Association is made up of 10,000 residents. My first year elected as President, was the start of the pandemic. The most vulnerable members of the neighborhood at Little Sisters of the Poor were hit extraordinarily hard. I immediately developed a plan to make certain the neighborhood took care of its own. I kicked off a comprehensive community campaign which raised nearly $200,000 within months. The effort allowed meals and products to be delivered seven days a week for 6 months. I brought the neighborhood together during an unprecedented time to make sure our community stayed strong. I am the first president in the 63-year history of the Association to receive the Sheffield STAR award during his first year in office.

I want to be your 43rd Ward alderman because Mayor Lightfoot is leading Chicago in the wrong direction. She is using her power through the aldermanic appointment to control the 43rd! I am already an independent, transparent, and hardworking advocate for our ward. I am not affiliated with the mayor or the former alderwoman. I am concerned for our resident’s ability to have their voice sincerely heard. I plan to erase the 2,000 police officer deficit, we need safe streets. A vote for me is a vote for an alderman that will listen, will be free of ties to the machine and will be a dedicated leader to the 43rd, my forever home.

Collaborative Leader

Brian meeting with local business owner, Brian O’Donnell

Brian knows that small business owners make our community. Brian works with our elected officials, at every level of government to enrich the ward for businesses and residents alike. His focus on community involvement, development and zoning matters gives a voice to neighbors. School leaders know Brian well, and neighbors know that when they contact Brian to share their concerns, they have an active listener who will help them.

Brian has proven his commitment and passion for the 43rd Ward over a lifetime of rolling up his sleeves and humbly getting to work for us. Odds are when you see his bright red hair on the streets of the 43rd, he’s engaged with neighbors listening to them and figuring out how he can help. There is no greater advocate for our ward than Brian.

Independent & Committed

Brian is fortunate to have his loving family close by – his parents live in Old Town and he is a loving, fun uncle to 11 nieces and nephews!

Brian Comer wants to be our alderman because he knows it’s a great job – serving our community! He doesn’t look at this as a stepping stone to something else. He is focused on building a safe, financially healthy and inclusive environment for us all. Brian is the selfless servant the 43rd Ward and Chicago deserve and he graciously asks for your support to elect him as Alderman.
